Do Headers Change Sound

I have heard that headers don't change the sound of your mustang at all, that only an exhaust will do that? is that true?

headers are part of your exhaust.

and yes they will change the sound.

will the bbk shorty headers fit a mac exhaust system

as long as they are the same size pipe, and made for shorty headers or stock manifolds.

i have bbk shorties and x pipe and it sounds good!!!

it wont sound bad with shorties, but it will sound deeper with long tubes
