v6 exhaust sounds good but need help...

Ive got an 05 mustang 4.0 (V6) with axle-back flowmaster 40 series and it sounds good....but i want more sound. Any suggestions? Would running an x or h pipe into dual 40 series make a difference? Ive also heard that changing my exhaust pipe to 3.5 inch or 4 inch will make it growl...

yes h or x would help, but 3.5 or 4 inch tubing wont help sound, you will just loose back pressure.

hmmm...so running it from the single exhaust to the dual exhaust with an x or h pipe would help significantly with the sound. What about taking the cats off?

okay...what about 3 inch tubing? THe x or h pipe to duals instead of singles will help sound sigificantly? WHat about taking off the cats?

yes true duals with H pipe will make a difference. now that i look again you have a s197 and idk alot about the s197, but i do know that duals with h or x will help but it will still be really quiet, look on youtube for some clips

2.5 inch pipes with an h pipe and flow 40s should sound mean and loud. plus give you a little more power, cam and headers will also add some nice growl to your exhaust.

S197 doesn't get loud -

You could try removing cats and going h/x pipe + long tubes.

yeha, it seems that the 4.0 just does not sound as good as the 3.8 in general. Not to say it cant sound good but i really have not heard any that sound real nice.
