I just had the same problem forever and decided to check under the hood and found a broken vaccum house..
A trip to Advanced Auto parts, and $0.72 later for the new hose, it worked nice. I will take a picture of where it is located hopefully by tomorrow for you. but to give you an idea.. At least on a 97 stang, ALL the way in the right upper corner you will see a piece with 3 houses coming out of it. next to each hose on this piece says something... look for the one that says A/C.. i believe its the middle one. Let me know.

Pull the HVAC panel off and check the hoses on the back.
Try warriors suggestion also.

OK SO:
PICTURE 01: This is the hose you want to check. The hose you see there is the replacement one. Yours will look much thinner. PICTURE 02: Showing you not so close up view of where the hose is located in respect to the engine PICTURE 03: Showing you where the other end of the hose ends at. The white-ish thing you see connecting the end of that hose and the other hose that eventually goes into the car is like the middle man. PICTURE 04: Showing you the entire picture of where the hose starts and where it ends. I would say get a hose about 2' 3" and you should be fine to attach it. Go to Advanced auto parts or autozone and they got it. Hopefully what you see is your problem and not the other hose that goes into the car because then you can surely start taking your car apart and diagnosing that situation. Like i said again, Once I corrected that, the 4 vents in the front blew beautifully. Also make sure your coolant is nice and level and should be fine. Hope that helps ![]() ![]() ![]()

omg warrior you are a fucking genius bro! worked beautifully! should i have bought the thicker hose though? cuz all i did was buy another fitting from the end of the hose and slipped it onto were it broke off at then put it back onto the lil thing that says a/c....does the bigger hose benefit more?

haha AWESOME man!! glad to have helped.
Well, when i went into the auto store, i thought they might have the same hose that the car was sporting but they didnt have any smaller than that. i dont know if ford made that small for a reason, maybe to make it look better, or if the size does have a performance factor to it, but all that matters to me that it is on tight and that it works. Glad it works for you too. |
