Boost Level for supercharger

My friend has a 1995 V6 mustang. The car is not his daily driver, but he drives it sometimes during the summer. He wants to supercharge it, but he wants the boost level to be at least 11 psi, and no more than 15 psi. Is this alright to drive, I told him that he only needed around 9 psi and it would be fine.

9psi should be his absolute max. Anything more and he will be walking for a while.

May be less psi than that.

Have the head gaskets been replaced in the v6? The early sn95 v6 head/gaskets were prone to early failure. The gasket material, along with the "swiss cheese" coolant passages has resulted in many cases of coolant to cylinder breach. If the head gaskets have been replaced with Fords recommended repair then all should be fine. Have your friend do some research on his car's history and this problem.

I believe that driving habits determine the end result of a persons engine. Driving the piss out of it all the time with high boost will surely end bad. Its all common sense and all cars are different.

I use to flog my car at least once a day. To me driving habits have nothing to do with it, as long as the tune is good he should have nothing to worry about. Now that's only if everything is 100% mechanically fine before it starts. If something is wrong with the engine the supercharger will find it.

Any car part can fail at anytime regardless if there is a load applied to it or not. Thats why they make replacement parts for them. And even with a perfect tune, the driver can push the car beyond its limits and blow the engine. The only insurance for that would be to install forged internals. Opinions dude opinions.

Forge internals don't gurantee anything as well. Forged just means you can push more boost without having to worry about it as much. You could still spin a bearing.
