O/R H-pipe

I just bought an O/R H-pipe for my 96 GT. Ive got Flowmaster Org. 40's welded in to the 2.25 inch pipe. How hard will it be to install the midpipe and about how much louder will it be? Also, will this get me any extra hp?

If you're mechanically inclined then it should be fairly easy for you as long as you have the proper equipment. Be sure to wear safety glasses or something to cover your eyes. Get a friend to help you out too. With the o/r h-pipe you will definitely be louder and deeper toned and your gains will be noticeable.

the pass side bolts to the header can be your biggest problem. be sure to soak the bolts in plenty of pb blaster so hopefully they come out easier. if all goes well its not to bad. if you have access to a lift and/or air tools it will make it a lot easier aswell, but you can still do it with simple tools and jack stands. you will also need an extension and a swivel socket.

You are doing the EXACT same thing I did. I welded in flows and then got the H. I did it by hand, what a pita. I broke 3 swivel sockets too. I think it took me like 6 hours, but that counted breaking tools, going to the store, buying tools, etc. And yes, I soaked everything in PB blaster the night before.

Honestly, the car is not a whole lot louder INside the car, well maybe a little more deep 'gurgle' to it, but it is much louder outside.

I actually feel like I lost some power on the bottom end (loss of back pressure?) but you make up for it in the high rpms.
