i have bbk long tubes in my bullitt and they actually sit below the sub frame connectors and my car is lowered so that makes it even worse.

LT's also sound a hell of a lot better though. If you want the deep extremely aggressive tone then LT's are really you're only choice.
Sure you could get a deep tone with shorties, but LT's will always sound deeper and better IMO

Thats amazing, considering I have heard both, and they sound about the same, other than different tones from different brands. LT's may be a little bit louder in higher Rpms, but not enough to give a shit about it imo, because it's not noticable enough. It's simple LT's for more Hp, and Shorties for more Tq, or just get Mids if you want a balance of both. |

+1 top end would be classified 4.5k-6k, when you're racing your rpm's are there most of the time

Hp is more for speed, Tq is more for acceleration, and if you have enough Tq, then the HP numbers won't matter much doing light to light. On the highway it would be a different story. Either way the difference in Hp & Tq numbers between the different sizes, are not dramatic enough to worry about which size to get. Get whatever you want, but if you already have an exhaust set-up, then why spend extra money to change it just because of headers. It's like buying a TB Spacer, the few extra horses are not worth the extra cash. So just buy whatever you like, want, or feel is needed for your particular set-up, and what your plans for your car are, as in what direction you plan on going. I mean LT's have advantages & disadvantages, and the same goes for Midlength and Shorty's. I just get sick of seeing people telling anyone who want's Shorty's or Mids, that you need to get LT's to see any gains, sound etc..., because that's bullshit. You can see gains from all the sizes, and like I said whatever you choose, there will be advantages & disadvantages, but nothing dramatic enough to worry about which size to get. Thats why you buy whatever fits your needs & wants, not the needs & wants of others.

The simple fact is .. if you're gonna take time and money to change out your headers from stock manifolds .. you might as well put long tubes in .. they aren't going to hurt you ... the only thing that would really hurt you on a car that is NA 281 2v is running open headers wtih no supporting exhaust mods .. If you want to post just for the sake of posting then go open up your own forum .. all you do in here is cause threads to go to 18 pages b.c you chime in just to see yourself type .. I live in NC too and speed humps and speed bumps do suck around here for some odd reason .. you're going to scrape sometimes no matter what you do .. but if you learn how to drive .. you'll be ok .. just take everything at a severe angle and go slow .. you'll be fine .. we all run lts down here and have never ripped or pulled anything off .. Good Luck

As you make more power eventually your shorties are only going to restrict you and you will need LT's. Unless you plan on just doing the basic bolt on's then get LT's, you will need them eventually.

Tell me why you would need them??? I have seen plenty of Mustangs, including 5.0's & 4.6's that are bulit for racing, and have 600-700Hp, and haven't had to change to LT's. And I don't know many people that plan on making much more Hp then that, especially on here, because most people seem to be looking for 500-600Hp. So I don't understand why you say they are needed??

You should get a life besides insulting ppl trying to help you OVER THE INTERNET. This website is made to help ppl on solving problems, decisions, etc... and you're being an asshole to someone just trying to help. I'm only 18yrs old, but it seems that you run across men sometimes that are less mature than a selfish, IMMATURE, hotheaded teenager. Thats really sad...

So 02Stang...
heres my suggestion to the guy! Get longtubes, its well worth it. Even in 1st gear you'll benefit (mildly). I swear you'll regret shorties man. Yes shorties will benefit TQ better than LT's will but... lets say theres 2 stock auto (to elimanate a driver mod) gt's, but one has shorties and the other has LT's... If they race a 1/4 mile the LT gt will always win... Its top end power vs top end tq.... now we all know that the gt's stop producing top tq much much earlier than they stop producing top hp... and when going fast, your rpm's are gonna be up there a lot. so why not go with LT's now dont bash me on my opinion please . Remember its only my opinion...
