I have no idea why they're sooo expensive though, you could make them yourself, its called no mufflers after the midpipe w/ tips lol
acutally the SLP "muffler" is some kinda resonator, no exactly straight pipes..i may just buy the 2 slp lm mufflers and use my flowmaster tailpipes..

but i may go bland and do BBK shortys, BBK o/r X and Flowmaster american thunder (already have flowmaster and headers, need x-pipe, have h right now)

but still slp is in the back of my mind..if anyone can find one used for 5.0's

My plan is to install my exhaust system, piece by piece. Im not rich and I dont want to make a $$ costly mistake and have my 01 Gt sound raspy. I think I should start off with Magnaflow cat-back pipes. Any suggestions, I hear that flowmasters are good for that deep rumbly sound..

LT or shortys, and x-pipe or h-pipe along w/ flowmasters arent raspy...just that lt's, x-pipe, flows is louder than shortys, h-pipe, flows..i personally dont like mangaflow, and thats also kinda raspy..i've really taken a liking to the borla stinger and bassani cat-backs 99-04 4.6lters!!!

According to this article here ( on this site)

The X-pipe has an X-shaped crossover between the left and right exhaust banks that equals out the exhaust gases on each side and allows for a dual flowing exhaust. An X-pipe will flow better than an H-pipe, but give a more raspy tone. The X-pipe sounds best with a straight-through muffler.

I was gonna buy a Bassani X-pipe with cat convertor but I dont want "raspy" sounds. Is there a setup that forum members have that will make your 4.6 sound " deep and rumbly" Theres no FAQ already made stating " buy this and ...." or "buy this .... and you get raspy exhaust sound" Sorry to be so picky, Im new to mustangs. I always drove Honda's before.

yes meiniki does sell and install flowmasters, only thing is that flowmaster doesnt make a cat-back w/ super 40's mufflers...there the 40 series delta flows, which are a little quieter, if you can i'd buy some original 40 series or super 44 series flowmasters and have them build the rest of the piping..
