07 Shelby GT 500 Owners


im picking mine up next week and my dealer is telling me it wont put down full power for 50 drive cycles.


i cant find any information on paper about it


any input?

if they tell you that it is probably true. I know some of the newer cars are like that. I have heard (can't confirm it) that the srt8 doesn't make full power until 3000 miles PCM controlled.

i guess it keeps pople from going out and immidiatly killing themsleves and runing there car. i read somehting that like 40% of high end sports cars are crashed before they even get home

There is a 50 mile power limiter program in the pcm.50 continuous miles.To keep the car from being driven hard in transport. I know this as I am a ford certified senior master tech.I don't own one of these yet ,but soon.If you have any questions that I can help you with let me know.If I don't have an answer I can get one.

They are really like a valet service...

They will also keep people from over-doing it for the first few miles...

Cars have break-in periods...

oh yeah.. reminds me of my Audi TT APR chip tuning for (Valet Program) where the car wont rev beyond 2000 rpm and there's also a limit on speed. Same thing with that Shelby, I think it's very useful!

Someone posted a video (news clip) last month in this forum about a guy who wrecked his brand brand new '06 Shelby GT on the way back home from the showroom.. do you recall it?
