I had a custom roll cage built for my 92 Gt convertible & got it NHRA certified to 8.50s or slower. Even though the NHRA tech guy that certified my cage accidently punched 7.50s or slower on the certification sticker...lol

I wouldn't trust myself to weld a roll cage unless I was awesome as hell at welding...

Maximum Motorsports sells a street roll bar for $280-$290. Its a 4pt bar but they also have 6pt with fixed or bolt in door bars.

Here's the 4pt part #'s

83-93 Part# MMRB-10.1

it is very hard to roll verts b/c of the extra suspension rod and that the center of mass is lower than that of a hard top, and they weigh more-^

but dont go out and try it just cause of what i said

O MAN THAT REMINDS ME... seeing as you are from cali, of this time i was riding a bus along the coastal highway( through the red wood forest=badass) and there were some cliffs without gaurd rails and the bus was hauling ass. So scary. AND the red wood forests were so foggy there was about 50 feet visibility and we were flying.

VERTS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is very very much worth it to get a vert. I wouldn't worry about a roll cage. I have actually never heard of a case where someone rolled a mustang vert(you'd have to be going over 100MPH). As far as mountain roads...if you go off one of those it doesn't matter if you have a hardtop or not...you're screwed! As far as other vehicles hitting you...they would have to hit you from the side AND somehow get their car under yours. With how low the stang sits to the gound, that is VERY unlikely.
