vortech ?s
alright just recently added the s/c runs great , but when i stomp the gas from low rpms there seems to be a hesitation in the boost. almost feels like a rev limiter and then it will kick in hard, not a belt slipping. is this a tune problem ????? anyone with this problem ?
thanks in advance Gates

the vortech is a centrifugal (spelling?) supercharger so it builds boost similar to a turbo. it has some lag time as opposed to a roots or twin screw s/c. you are feeling the lag time then the boost kick in

I have a friend who has a whipple and he had that problem a while ago. He figured out later it was the tune and took his car to another shop to get it retuned. Now it runs great.

It is normal, you have to move from vac. to boost, that period or "dead spot" is lag. You can tune a little better to help it, you can also re-cam and gear to compensate a little to help it as well.
Beyond that you will have to be patient the second it takes to move

nature of the blower - all blowers I've owned did the same thing - centr. are higher end monsters.

How are you sure its not the belt slipping?
If its stumbling or doesnt seem to be pulling like it should... take a look at the boost gauge (assuming you have one), if the needle is jumping of moving back and forth.. it could very well be the belt slipping. If its a lag.. and thats what your experiencing.. and just describing it as a hesitation.. thats normal for that type of supercharger. You could band-aid that problem with a gear swap, and a more precise tune.
