Supercharger Is Loosing Boost!

I bought a 1998 mustang GT with a vortech supecharger. I was getting 6lbs of boost, at 3000 rpm, and 10 lbs at 5000 rpm. But now I'm getting 0-1 lbs, and 4-5 lbs! could the supercharger be going out in it? someone help me please!!

You probably have a slipping belt, look for black dust around the pulleys. A new belt should fix it, Gatorback is preferred, the cheap stuff slips.

yeah, my supercharger used to get 10 lbs of boost at 5000 rpm, but for some reason its only getting 4-5 lbs now? Should I send it off to be rebuilt?

Thanks My`StangOpens, but there is still 1 question still that still remains, how hard would it be to change one? Is there any diagrams? Also, the supercharger makes a noise, sorta like a grinding noise, now I know that superchargers make like a whistling noise, but this is somewhat of a grinding noise, that is why i thought the bearings or something was going out.

The belt their referring to is simply your serpentine belt for the all the motors components. Also suggest you get a gatorback cause the cheaper belts dont cut it for superchargers. Check for dust near the s/c pulley indicating serpentine belt slippage. On the bad side it sounds like your bearings may be going out. I have a vortech v2 centrifugal s/c and when the bearings went out it started making a grinding noise also, although i dont recall it losing boost. i just recall it sounding very unhappy and it got progressively worse.
