No you won't have to pull the motor. It'd be a good time to get tubular a-arms though... and you'll probably need an alignment afterwards. Make sure you get spring perches unless your going to be running coilovers. It'll probably take a half day or so to swap.

Make sure you have an engine hoist to hold the engine up.

Helped a buddy install a tubular AJE k. He went with Fox A arms. Either the jib moved or it spread a bit when it was cooked for the powder coating. We had to fab spacers some small spacers. It is a nice looking setup. Lots of access now and saved some weight on the front end. I am considering it now for my Mach. :wink

AJE K-members have compressable bushings built in. It looks at first like the control arms are too loose but once you tighten the bolts the bushings compress and take up the slack. I thought the same thing you did the first time I picked up an AJE k-member.

k member
It can be done without the motor in but it is a pain. I did mine before the motor was in and with the car on a lift it is easier to remove the old member cuz you can lower it with a tranny jack. the new one is so light you can hole it in place while someone bolts it on. If you have to do it with the motor in make sure you have the car on jackstands as high as you can go and still beable to jack the motor. like I said the hard part about havin the motor in is gettin the old one out....Good luck!!!

We rigged up a sling and suspended the engine from above. Dropped the ps rack and stock k. Put the tubular k back in and replaced everything. It was a pretty straightforward install. I am seeing one in my future.

It probably should take no more than 4-5 hours but we were screwing around with other things. Fixed a leaky connection on my line lock. Changed the tranny and rear oil. Drank a few cold ones. We started on a Saturday afternoon and finished it up the following Sunday afternoon. Our mod sessions seem to end up as a social gathering. Many times other buddies will stop by and BS and it always ends up taking more time that it should.

when you guys choose to buy one let me know, maybe we can find someone to do a group buy because i want to get the AJE k-member #MU-4000 94-02 K-Member, (mild steel no motor mounts) and our two authorized vendors don't deal in AJE parts, but JEGS does
