I should have said the horizontal axle stabalizer
and is this little shock absorber really necessary????
Its only the right side that rubs
only happens during hard accel 1st gear to 2nd
but its carved a groove in my 18" tires and its annoying

No... especially if it's dominating your tire. Just take it off.

Should both be removed or just the offending stabalizer

both.

quad shocks are Fords "band aid" for there crap suspension.

get yourself a good set of control arms and take the quad shocks out.
