can a hard top be made into a convertible?


I just bought a 1998 cobra svt and the only thing I dont like about it is its a hard top and was wondering if it can be converted to a convertible?

Way too much work to be worth it. If you wanted a convertible you should have bought a convertible. Theres alot of stuff that differs from convertibles to hardtops. Like structural support for instance. The convertibles are beefed up more on teh chasis since there is no top to provide the added support... Plus you have to make clean cuts around the car and do all the body work. Add in the extra parts ( ie, motors, assyms., place for the top to store when down, ect... ).

you should convert it to a targa or t-top instead. thats actually possible. turning your cart into a vert = not gonna happen

haha wow man just be happy with the coupe. Or sell it and buy a vert actually someone might trade you straight up their vert for your hardtop. Put an add on craigs list for a trade

yeah anything is possible, but it would be so completely ridiculus to attempt that, you would have to change so many things it wouldnt even be close to worth it, go with the targa top
