Engine acting up

So today I got out of work and turned on my car, as I was sitting there warming it up I noticed it shaking a bit. I could see the shaker hood moving and my gear shifter handle moving along with the car. I got out of the car and i could hear the exhaust making a different noise, it would make like a thump sound or like a drone coming out of the exhaust all the way from the engine. It does it 3 times stops for 1sec 3 times stops for 1 sec and it just does this on and on. Every time it makes the noise the engine rocks and shakes side to side. Also at WOT it feels like the engine shakes more than usual. The car just does not sound right, any ideas? I have heard that detonation sounds something like this, could it be that? I really hope its not that, help?

Never, =( I have had the car about a year and a half or two. Think its time for a change? How often should you change them?

Yeah, I think im going to go get them looked at and changed. Hopefully that will solve the problem. How much do you think having that done will go for? Any suggestions on some good ones that I should look into?

don't pay someone to do something so simple.

and use copper plugs.. here is a good list.

Spark Plug List For Mustangs

and I'll find a write up on changing them if you would like.. it really is very simple.

Awsome, yeah I if I can get a write up I will definitly do it myself. I have started to do my own work on the car so this will help me out. I did my last mods and the car has not fallen apart so I will give this a try too. Thanks,

Oh what should the gap be for the plugs? They come .54 when I bought them, is that ok or should it be changed a little? That sounds good for what I have been reading but just making sure.

Well installed the spak plugs today and changed my fuel filter, the car is running good so far. I have not been able to get on it and have only driven it for about ten minuts but the car feels good and no more shaking or jolting of the engine. Hopefully it stays this way, only thing I am worried about now is the responce at WOT and at higher RPMS. Cant give it a try till late tonight but hopefully everything comes out well.

Installing everything was pretty simple, only thing I really had to disconnect was my CAI and that was only from the TB since I could move it around and work around it. Saved myself a huge amount of money, the guy at the shop wanted over $300 just for changing the plugs. thanks everyone
