Popping In Front End When I Put In Drive Or Reverse


ok guys there is a popping noise in my front end i cant stand when i put it in drive and press the gas it pops once or twice or when i put it in reverse it pops hard once..i thought it was my trans mount but its not its coming from underneathe my feet on the driver side...any suggestions as to what it could be or not??please help..and its 1996 mustang gt with modular motor put in it..automatic

I'd look into the driver's side motor mount.

Your looking to see if its broken.

An easy way to tell if you cant see the mount itself is pop the hood, start the car, and have someone stand next to the engine bay while you hold the brake and give it just a little gas in gear and if its broken they will see the engine rise up.

PS make sure you dont accidently back the car up into the garage wall or something trying this though.

sounds like you have had some experience with backing it into the garage!
