Odd Sounds When Making Tight Turns

Hey guys,

I've noticed a strange binding sound when I take tight turns in my 04 Mustang GT. It's like a deep clicking sound, and sometimes it happens under hard acceleration also. It is a fast series of clicks, almost a knocking sound.

A friend said to me that he thought it might be my bushings, but the car only has 15K on it and has been taken care of well. I had a 99 GT before and never noticed this.

Thanks for any advice you guys can offer.

Welcome to MM. Is it a stock rear end? An aftermarket locker differential can make clicking sounds when making a sharp turn. Give us some more info and try to isolate the sound if you can. Post up some pics of your ride.

Thanks for the reply!

The sound is coming from the front end, and I can vaguely feel it through the floorboard.

The rearend is stock. I do have a Steeda anti-sway bar that I will be installing soon, and I think that came with new bushings....if I remember correctly.

what about new rims and tires? did you install any type of aftermarket rims? because i put some cobra r's on my 98 GT, BUUUT i dind't tighten the lug nuts tight enuff, and it was making a sound, the lug nuts were pretty loose. and making a clicking noise, so if you have after market rims, check your lugs!

not sure about your car but when I had 9 inch wheels up front, the would rub the inner fender. I don't think any of your steering components would go that bad with only 15kmiles on them.
