Good Powerdyne Supercharger Info!

I now have had the Powerdyne kit for a year now and while its working the thing is fantastic! But now onto the important stuff, I know everyone says that powerdyne is garbage and i didnt buy the kit but it came on the car I bought. But heres how I see it, the belt thats in the supercharger did snap, but only after 3 years of abuse! And when it did, me and my buddy upgraded the belt, and the bearings for a hundred bucks off ebay! Thats the cool thing about its simplistic design is you can rebuild it yourself! Both the new belt and the bearings are twice as good as the original so i should see even a longer time before it breaks. And when you look at the price $1500 for a brand new kit off ebay you cant really go wrong! So just a good experience I figured I'd share.

yea, i am debating whetehr or not to continue building up my v6 after i do the gears or hold out for a gt. it will be about 7 years before i get a gt, so i think i will continue with the v6 for a while. i was looking into eaton s/c's and they seem kind of simple to understand and i might go that route. does powerdyne make a s/c for the 3.8L? i know they do for the 5.0

i know someone who makes a powerdyne kit for the v6 mustang.... but he is slow on cranking out the kits, really slow.

All kits include:

- New BD-11A head unit with 3-year Powerdyne warranty(extended warr. avail.)
- Stainless steel discharge tubes (powdercoated steel is an option)
- Aluminum satin finish mounting brackets
- Goodyear or Gates belt
- Bosch by-pass valve
- 42# injectors
- 255 or 300lph pump
- SCT MAF
- Pre-programmed SCT flip chip with 3 custom programs
- K & N filter
- All necessary hardware and hoses to install
- Complete instructions and tech support available just about 24/7.

The kit comes sub assembled and only takes about 4 hours plus the time it takes to change the fuel pump. Some can change a pump in an hour....some take 3 hours.

$2999 (Free install if you come to MI)

Same kit as above with fully reconditioned BD-11A and 2 year warranty:

$2499 (Free install if you come to MI)

This kit:

- Includes everything. No other kit offers this level of completeness.

- Is by far the easiest kit to install with no oil lines or tapping of the pan.

- Is the quietest of any available at idle.

- Can be removed even faster than it was installed.

50% due at time of order. Balance due when kit is shipped.

Powerdyne is a good novice kit. A good unit to start with. My buddy made 481 horsepower at the wheels and has gone 10.50s with a Powerdyne on a stock short block 5 liter. He just switched to a Vortech S trim so we will see what the car does now.

use a GATES brand belt and you will not have any problems with belt slip. i switched to Gates and it has worked fine since no slip, no stretch.

The 5.4L requires some real base engine upgrades before you can make any power. 390 to 400 at the tire is it. They use a very weak rod that has a way of finding it's way out the side of the block. I have 3..yes 3 in the shop now, all with new windows in the blocks. People step up to larger lower pulley and boom. The Kenne Bell upgrade on the Lightnings we have also found to be a killer. The KB makes a TON of power, and again finds the weak spot really quickly.
