How's it going...
I would like to get an exhaust system put on my car by the end of the summer.
I was originally looking for the flowmaster 40 series, or 40 series delta mufflers. I've been trying to find a catted h pipe, because I still need to pass emissions. I found a brand; SLP...but they are really expensive. Other than that...it seems no one carries them. My next idea was to have an exhaust shop custom fab an h pipe with some universal cats, as well as the pipes between the muffler & tips, etc. My mechanic said the best way, even though it may be more expensive, is to get a cat back system. The catbck will be higher quality, and shouldn't have any possible leaks, creaks, etc. This was my original idea, but then I decided I would like to get an aftermarket H-pipe(unless it wouldn't be worth the money without changing the headers).
I found
this system on the flowmaster website. The two cats on this system are connected @ a Y. If I get an H, or even an X pipe for that matter...how would the midpipe connect to that exhaust system? Would the exhaust shop have to remove that Y piping, and connect the h pipe directly to the cats?
I didn't really see anything in the threads relating to this question. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation, and offer their opinion if it would be the best choice(I know there is an opinion sticky, but while the post is here, why not ask!)
