Hey all,

I have noticed that in the back on my 2000 GT that when it rains water gets into the back of the car and I can see it laying in the black cover where the top folds down into. I have traced the source of where the top is leaking and I notice that the bottom flap of the top on the outside is coming apart from the window. What type of glue or adhesive should I use to put that back down to bond to the window? To be more specfic on where I am talking about, if you walk to the back of the car, and right where the window meets the bottom lip of the top, in the lower right corner is where I am talking about.

I had this exact thing happen minus the water intrusion. It was on the left side though. I tried to get some of the glue from the dealer, but they wouldnt give it up or recommend any type. I started off by trying some crazy glue, but that was crap, didnt hold for but for two days. I decided to step it up and use the gorilla glue. I know sounds messy, but actually not. I used just a little bit, put it on the window about 1/2 inch from where the top finishes, and pressed it firmly. Make sure you have a rag and something heavy like a history or math book to place on top. After i applied the glue, press the top back on and make sure it is straight. wipe excess off with a damp rag, then i put the rag down and the book on top to hold it. Let is sit for about 4-8 hours or so (dont remember how long). Pull the book and rag off and check it after cure time. most likely some the of the glue seeped out and stuck the rag to the window. I used a razor blade for this and cut real close to the top, making sure not to cut the top. Did this last year and havent had a problem since. good luck.
