07 v6 radiator help please give input
Tonight was another dredfull foggy night(if you concider 2:30am night) in Texas...
So I was changing lanes and could see for shit, hit a blowout from an 18wheeler that was in the middle of the road at about 65. Luckly I stradled it. Pulled over at the next exit and the lower grill was still hanging on by a bit. only a bit of road rash damage to it, and i dont feel like/cant get it back on. The little rubber deflector that goes under the bumper was anialiated so that was riped off. Didnt see to much more damage, but it was dark, so I kept going. 30 miles later everything seemed to be running fine, got to my destination and took a closer look. bumper didnt look to bad, no rips in the fiberglass, the to the closer inspection. At frist i just thougt that some of the fins on the radiator and the thing in front of it were bent, but on closer inspection in addition to being mangled to hell, both were slightly bowed towards the rear of the car, with the radiator taking the brunt of the damage. The fan shroud that goes around the back of the radiator is also busted at the point where the radiator is tweeked the most. Without being able to see it in the day light its hard to tell what else was bent. Cooling system seemed to be working great, everything where it normaly was...no leaks. Took it out, got it hot, and the temp never budged, so I feel safe driving it for a while untill i can get the parts. Any one disagree? My questions were: What is the smaller radiator infront of the radiator? ac? Best parts to replace with. I was thinking might as well put an aluminum one in since its gunna be apart. Anyone with a good brand? Will the gt ones work/fit? I may be thinking of my f150, but is there a rubber sheet that stretches fron the lower grill to the radiators. I cant remember and if there is Its definatily gone too The car is an 07 v6 5speed if that helps
