Mufflers to make v6 same tone as cobra?

Morning gang,

I was dicking around with a cobra yesterday on my way to work, and BOY does that car sound beautiful!!! I don't have a clue what/ if any mods were done to it.

Which brand muffler do you think would make a 6 sound as close to the cobra exhaust as possible? I realize I would have to change headers, and go catless, etc...to get the maximum effect. I'm very close to getting flowmaster original 40's, and I'm curious if that is my best bet!

Stupid question, but I had to ask. lol

hate to tell ya, but no exhaust will make your car sound like a Cobra. a buddy of mine has one, and our exhaust setupa are the same except i have long tubes and he doesn't, and his Cobra sounds different from my GT. it's the 4V motor, it just breathes so much better, so the sound is different. going to true dual and doing headers will make your exhaust better, but it'll never sound like a V8 because you don't have one. i'm not trying to slam you, so please don't take it that way. i would do a full exhaust, but i wouldn't go with flows, personally. i really don't like how they sound very much. i have Spintech Prostreets with a Dr. Gas o/r X pipe and Mac long tubes and i'm real happy with that sound...

Lol, its all good, like i said...it was a stupid question. I know its never going to sound like a V8, i was more shooting for the tone it has. Such as flows have that loud rumbly sound, magnaflow is more sporty...so which muffler would have the same tone i guess is how i meant to ask it. but non the less, thanks for the replies. was expecting pure flaming...lol

I think flows on a 6 are the best. That will be a good choice IMO

I just called an exhaust shop who carries flowmaster, magnaflow, and their own custom xhaust. They would charge 275 for just the mufflers back, or 550 for midpipe back. recommended just muffler back if im not removing cats, etc.
Does that seem reasonable? would u do the whole system or just mufflers back?
