CEL codes - 96 v6 mustang

my brother has a 96 v6 mustang and he is getting three codes thrown. my xcal 2 detected the codes:

1) P0302
2) P1000
3) P1443

does anybody know what these mean? and what do we need to do to fix it?

for xmas, i want to help him replace his rusted out flowmasters with ss pipes and force mufflers or something. i think with some connections i can get this done for about 150 or so. from the first 2 cats back to the tips.

i am helping him to really clean up his ride and make it worthy from the hardships of the previous owner. any and all help would be greatly appreciated. my brother has been going this winter without a heater and defrost due to bad heater core. he is spending his day tomorrow working on switching that out, and he has brought his grades in school up alot. i just want to do something to help him out before he leaves for college next fall. thanks guys

i know number one is the misfire in cylinder 2 code. i will get him new spark plugs/wires for xmas. and hope this helps out with that

number 2, i have no idea

number 3, looks like evaporative control sensor. now, does anyone know where this is on a 96 v6 mustang?

P0302 may mean that one or more of the following has happenedcylinder #2)

Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

P1000 OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete

It means you disconnected the battery recently and sufficient drive cycles haven't occurred to reveal any diagnostic codes. It takes a few engine heat cycles to complete the test.

P1443 Evaporative Emission Control System - Vacuum System - Purge Control Solenoid or Purge Control Valve fault

The canister purge valve is located on the passengers side firewall near the A/C accumalator and is located in a vacuum line that goes from the back of the engine into the passengers fender where the evaporator canister is located.

hanging around other car nuts could for sure get him hooked. Give him a
"gift subscription" to moddedmustangs. And make him use it.

haha, if he cared enough about cars i wouldnt be here finding the info for him. but after we get his car fixed up, he should be wanting to join. there's great people with great info and a great atmosphere here, and he is just missing out as of now.

i think what might have happened with his car is since he has rusted flowmasters, maybe the emissions code tripped, and then maybe an O2 sensor went out, and the P1000 might be from him changing out his heater core today, we were just going through broken and touble issues with his car yesterday after work

so i am getting him an oil change and chipping in for a new Stainles steel 2.5" after cat set up with a fabricated H pipe and force mufflers. i want to get him something affordable that will last
