Larger rims on my '08 V6 Mustang

I have a brand new 2008 Ford Mustang. It came stock with 18" rims and I'm looking for something larger. What is the maximum rim size I can use without having to modify anything else? I also don't really know much about tire sizes. I'm assuming I'm going to have to go with low profile tires if I'm getting my rims any larger. Any input/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Pretty much everything else about the car is stock.

go to your ford dealer and look at a rousch or saleen. they run 20's. you can get the tire size from one of them. they will have to be very low profile though, like 35 or lower.

255/40/zr18.

the first number refers to the tread width, 255
the second number refers to the sidewall height, 40.
the letter is the tires speed rating, zr.
the last number is the rim size, 18.

a wider rim can hold a wider tire. I don't know how wide you can go on the newer model though.

I wouldn't run anything bigger than a 20 inch rim.

Figuring 20x9 and 20x10 rim size, good tire sizes are 255/35-20 front and 285/35-20.

Good tires are Nitto NT555 and BFG KDW NT.

This really depends on the car, if it will run smoothly. Big rims are great but it will cause some problems to your car soon. 18-20" would be the best I guess.
