i say supercharge it and get forged internals so u can turn the boost up. theres a lot of kits out there that come complete with everything to install the s/c

if you want big numbers, turbo is the way to go. better build that block 1st though.

I am partial to HP Performance's Kit but that is just me google turbo mustangs and see what you like. Hellion also has a good kit. But to answer your question yeah I would buy a kit the HP kit can be ran on your stock engine as long as you keep your boost under 10psi HP has a car on their site with a stock engine 132000 miles running 9psi making 442 hp not sure on the tq numbers but high 500's but you want a kit man it has everything you will need minus the tune at your local shop. Now rebuild your engine with all forged internals and well have fun and boost the hell out of it go for 15 to 20 depending on your needs and driving style orthe blocks shape and all that if you ask me on a street/strip car 500-600 is good with gears and tires and all the other goodies you got a badass car. So if you haven't gotmy point yet I am a huge turbo fan man only recently the more I read on turbo's the more I like them. Good luck man I wish you the best.

stages dont really mean anything, there just obscure numbers a company puts on a kit to make it seem like its better or gonna make more power..
boost is just an other way of saying turn turn up your boost/psi, its just car lingo. psi doesnt matter either, it depends more on the size of your turbo. a t25 is gonna produce less power on 10 psi in comparison to like a GT42r on 10psi

WHAT? lol

dude boost is the increased amount of airflow your engine gets from the supercharger or turbo. psi is how its measured. psi = pounds per square inch.

go to www.turbochargedpower.com and have a look around, kick back watch some sweet vids, and see if thats what you want. If so,go for it.

good luck

OK...Let me break it down....

First off... I dont reccomend trying to make anything over 400hp without forged internals. Forged internals are forged rods, pistons, and sometimes crankshaft to increase bottom end strength. Too much boost on the stock internals could break something fairly quickly.

Second. Supercharging and Turbocharging are "VERY" different number-wise. If your looking for a lot of low end power and torque, you'll want a twin screw supercharger. If you prefer your power and toque to be higher up in the RPM range the you'll want a centrifugal supercharger. Superchargers are usually cheaper than turbochargers, and are generlally much more predictable.

Turbochargers, on the other hand are a bit more complicated. Small turbos spool very quickly on high compression motors, but they put a lot of stress on internals. Larger turbos on lower compression motors are often better for your internals, but they dont reach peak boost as quickly. Turbo kits are generally much more expensive for mustangs than superchargers, but you get what you pay for. They're better at producing power and most of all torque. You want a sh*t load of torque, then get a turbo.

Just a side not though. 400, 500, and 600hp is a lot more power than a lot of people think it is. A 600hp goal is a "BAD" goal for someone who still has yet to experiece what 400 or 500hp is like. FOrged induction isn't the best "FIRST" mod. Im only 17, but my dad has a modded gt with 330rwhp and I'll admit, it's too much for me, and it's a naturally aspirated vehicle (no turbo or supercharger). I can't control t. It's got more torque than traction. And that's just in the 300-400 range. I can only imagine what 600 is like.

But I hope that helps.

Hey stangaddiction...THANKS. Excellent comments. To ad to his comments, power adders ALWAYS find the weakest point. At those HP levels the next thing is the clutch, followed by the transmission, followed by the rear end and axles/suspension. Parts are gonna break.
