Engine Rebuild?


Alright i have a 1989 mustang 5.0 gt its all stock just bought it the engine has 158k on her. before i start power adding to it should i rebuild the engine im afraid it will blow on me if i dont. if you ahve any feedback please list it. thanks.

PS dont they make any chips or tuners for the 89 gts i have been looking all over the place cant find one.

if your looking to add alot of hp you might as well rebuild the engine and put forged internals in it. idk thats what i would do

i'd replace that engine with a nice fresh one, thats built and maybe go with a carb set up

carbs can make a shit ton of hp as well with some nice nitrous

I am having the engine rebuilt with all new forged internals and performance parts. I want to stay away from nos but i think im gonna go with twin turbos.

just throw a supercharger on it and be done with it. put a 346 stroker and supercharge the shit out of it!!!

Do a compression check and a leak down test. Does it burn any oil? If its good, leave the bottom end alone. The pistons are forged from the factory. The stock rotating assembly (crank, rods and pistons) will handle more horsepower than the factory block will. Don't be afraid of it.
