k member install


hey guys im thinking of going with a new light weight k member...do i have to change everything to coil over and if so what exactly does coil overs do??and can i go ahead and change my shocks right now before i do all this??

No you don't have to change to coil overs. Most companies offer them with or without spring perches.

there are many kits you can get, some have the tubular a-arms with spring perches, you can get some that can use the stock a-arms, and you can get the full kit with coil-overs. You can go ahead and get struts now for the front but if you get coil-overs you might have to modify the struts, by grinding down the dust caps on top or cutting them off. I have the UPR tubular k-member with coil overs and i love it. I just took my lakewood 90/10 struts to a grinder and grinded off the edges of the dust caps so i could fit the sleeves over them and it was good to go from there. Its a pretty fun task installing it also lol.
