Thumbs up

am's new wheel supplier is horrible

I read a thread a while back syaing they're new wheels were poorly color matched. That is a gross misunderstatement they are hooribly unsafe for road use.

This was realized after spinning out at about 50 mph and seeing my wheels bearing the sr center cap was missing about 4" of the lip that never held a bead right in the first place. I thought this maybe a coicidence but it never held a bead and I thoughtit may be due to the tire but insp by a tire shop revealed that this pair of wheels were of poor quality and would not have been installed per their opinion

So am can go to hell for opting into a more "viable wheel" and never ever receive a dime of my money or a good thought on adverising

Thanks... I'll keep that in mind when buying wheels. NOTE TO SELF: DO NOT BUY AM WHEELS!

What did they say were poor quality about them. Do you have any pictures of this defect? I am also confused about your wheel bearings and center cap part. Care to elaborate?

Thats a shame too. Because I had the ones prior to the current supplier, and they were flawless, at a damn good price.. Sigh

Said they're no reason for them to break like that. I didn't hit or curb them on anything. I went back to see if they're is some in the ditch that may have caused it and returned nothing. My rear center caps were the sr brand wheels and the fronts havr the m logo on them. Nothings wrong with my wheel bearings either. Ill get some pics later. I'm on my blackberry now and I don't really know how or if I can upload them from here. Nothing else on my car was damaged except one wheel and tire with about 4 inches being broken off of the wheel lip.

I can honestly say I 've never heard of a 4" chunk just falling off of any wheel for no reason. I instantly think either road damage or shipping damage. You say that the wheel never beaded correctly in that spot...that would be an instant red flag to me that something was amiss. I would have called us immediately to figure out what was going on whether it be shipping damage or defect.

I understand you are pissed off after talking to this tire shop, but for this tire shop to insinuate that we would purposefully sell an unsafe wheel is pretty ridiculous. The wheels from all manufacturer's we have bought from have always been from manufacturers that use the exact same process and tolerances as Ford OEM quality wheels. All designs are both load and safety tested in the same fashion that Ford demands from their OEM wheels and they all carry a Lifetime Structural Defect Warranty. For this tire shop to just look at them and say they were poor quality is absurd...where did they get their engineering degree? It is interesting that they can perform the necessary tests to determine this such as a load test, metallurgical test, radial and cornering fatigue test, and stress analysis with just their eye balls. Is this the shop that installed the tires? For all you know they damaged the wheel when they installed the tires and are covering their tracks.

Now like I said earlier, all of the wheels that we sell offer a Lifetime Warranty against structural defect. The manufacturers we buy from do stand behind their product as do we. If you can PM or email me some good pictures of the wheel and your full name and/or order number I can look into what possibly caused this and also get a warranty claim started for you.

Thanks,

Nick

The wheels i had before were great. I even ran over a curb and bent 2 of the rims' lip, and it still ran great. Sucks the new wheels are workin for ya. Hope you can get it figured out.

You asked for my opinion when you made this thread, due to the fact that this is a public forum. So let me get this straight, you took your tires to a shop to have them take some lugs off, slide new rims and tires on, and tighten some lugs back down, and then claim that AM has shitty wheels because the installer said so? Riiight.
