Andy and his GO is GOing also..they went last year and its sounds like a really GOod time, ppl line the streets for the parade of cars, sounds awesome

Well...let me see what happens My Mom is in ICU since Friday & just had a pacemaker put in...I have a thread in here someplace. Anyway, in order to take care of her, I may have to use all my vacation days..not sure. My bro is in from CA so that's helping now.

Oh yeah I know Andy is comin'...LOL but you all will be parked together. I will be...in the cold blue world. LOL We'll see I have always always wanted this. Could always meet up...

Guessin you take your car back each nighht to the hotel rather than stay downtown and leave it?

Yes some of the WCS are going to attend..I'm just not like really close like best buds ya know? We'll see...like I said I have always wanted to go and wth...what's the worst that would happen? I'd get bored? Doubtfull...there is always someone to chat with and I soooooo want that RT 66 black leather jacket!! They gotta sell them somewhere during the event.

Lets see what happens here and if I can still keep those VA days. I DID schedule them off GUESSING at the dates back in NOVEMBER when we have to pick them. I only have 3 days left and I will have to use one to take MOM to the DR on tuesday and who knows what else....

And thank you...it's been so difficult for her. I mean she nearly DIED on Friday.

Hell I hope the worst is over for her and things get better, that does sound scary

I originally couldnt GO, but my plans for that wknd have changed recently, so I'm GOing to take advantage off my day of on Friday. It would be great to see some MM'rs there, but I realize family comes first, as it should.

Tentative Itinery
.....We all need to have a little idea of a timeline, however nothing is set in stone, so post up your thoughts!

1. Arrive at the Launching Pad before 11:00 with a departure time "NO LATER THAN 12:00"
This allows Nick some time.... as we all remember from "last year!"

Try to arrive at 11am or before for some photo Ops and lunch!

1.1 Arrive at the reststop just south of the Sherman exit for relief and to aquire Greentang with Virigina; Todd and his son Jess in their "GO". Todd will marshall us into Springfield. (About 2 hour drive)
This might be a good place for the east conga line to join in?

2. Arrive at Registration Booth somewhere on Vine and 5th? around 2:30pm.
Todd is our tour guide and is our only hope to get to the registration booth.

3. Check in at Hotel after car show registration.(3-3:30pm)

4. Down time (3:30-4:15)so we can clean cars, shower, organize, gas up, prep for cruise line-up.
Keith is again in charge of finding the hotel garden hose!

5. Everyone meets outside the Official BOGO Hotel parking lot at 4:15.

6. Around 4:30p.m. drive over to cruise staging at the Capital City Shopping Center across the street from the official BOGO hotel.

7. Do the Cruise! 2 hours?!?!?

8. Park downtown and hook-up with a pizza party?

9. Saturday get up at the crack of dawn for a Champaign and orange juice toast to the Grabber Orange Sun god!





Word is the Holiday Inn express is full I am looking for another motel.

Is there any point in driving over Saturday morning and staying Saturday Night? Or do you have to be registered on Friday?

There looks to be registration each day. Friday night is the cruise and park the cars for show and it looks like Saturday is car show all day 11am-9pm. Sunday looks to be awards from noon-2.

I havent been there B4 so I'm just GOing on what my fellow GO members are saying and the flyer I posted above says. Bands on a couple different stages,food and drinks sounds like a GOod time to me.

My son is now working every weekend both days and getting paid pretty good for a kid anyway.....so it's hard to tell him no for that...you know? Although he is begging to go to a car show with me this year...

I am already in for the event...as I registered over six months ago when they emailed me the forms since I have been every year for the past 4. I am only 30 minutes from Springfield. This is a fun event and the cruise is awesome with lots..lots of people sitting off the side of the road to watch the cars.....
