Porting Stock Plenum and TB

So I have an extra throttle body and plenum.... and a machine shop at my school...

Would porting them make any big difference? Are there any websites that can show me how to do this? Or the specs that it can be made to?

Thanks

there are gains to be had porting them. i ran a ported plenum and t/b for a while. if done correctly, they will flow competively with an aftermarket set up.

Don't enlarge the area around the butterfly valve. If you do you won't be able to cut off the air flow to the motor and could end up with a 2000 rpm idle.

i port them now and then. It's less about material removal than it is about building up the floor on the short side turn of the plenum with some epoxy. I use a sanding wheel and a drill to enlarge the throat. Don't bother porting the TB... it's easy as hell to mess it up and you'll get nothing for it. It's better to get a 70mm or 75 (if supercharged) TB and bolt it up to a properly ported plenum.

its easy to port the t/b, hard to mess up if you are paying attention. usually on a mild car the ported t/b does nothing, i have done one on an tuned bolt on auto with damn good results.
