Only cheaper thing you might get is to get the new steering shaft that doesn't have the rubber rag joints. That and upgrade your power steering fluid.

the rack will be going into a drag race only car. so very minimal turning needed.

Flaming River is on Steeda too, though I don't know price or what other brands they offer.
