I'm going to have to go with a 03-04 Cobra. I bought the car for $23500 and probably have put in about $2500 worth of upgrades, and not all parts were to make horsepower. I am currently putting down 517rwhp and 505rwtq. Just my .02

What do you mean by "better to hook up"? And what all are you including in "overall" performance?

im saying which show better results when maxed out with mods.... the newer models or the 99-04 ...what year and which model is the best overall price and final performance wise after dumping money in, "Example" -"the 04 cobra is the best cause its the cheapest and blank blank blank"

GT-500. No replacement for displacement, especially when it is blown!!

Define "maxed out".

Seriously, if you're gonna "max out" the mods, it doesn't matter what you start with, as you'll end up replacing everything that identifies the motor as what it is, and totally destroy your budget constraints.

If "maxed out" means all the bolt ons, then we're talking something different. If you want handling when you're done, I'd start with a Cobra with a teskid block, if you're going for straight-up, straight-line power, then either a GT500 if you can afford it, or a Terminator if you can't.

Tell us *exactly* what you want, and we'll tell you how to get there.
This vague "I want the mad hook up, dawg!" doesn't tell us squat.

This is an EXTREME generalization and everybody is going to punch holes in it with details.

BUT
IN MY OPINION

The potential and price of modification go up proportionally with valve numbers.

But im very partial to 4v mod motors. And i believe that if you have the cash a termi is the way to go.... I dont have the cash.... Fuck that, i think im going to ditch my N/A package and go with a Termi.

Although i was skeptical of 3v's when they first came out, they basically are bolt on power houses and have proven themselves....

2v's like mine in my opinion are a the bottom of the totem pole, but also the least expensive to modify.

But honestly i'd go 5.0 before i'd go 2V, if your gonna go economy go all the way... i guess...

ON a side note.. who KNEW there were so many smileys?! no one told me, oh the fun shall begin...

Before buying my 03 Cobra I had a 03 Gt. I liked the Gt alot, but after getting the Cobra I wished I would have got the Cobra from jump street. On my car I currently have a Stiegemeier stage 4 ported eaton, Billettflow 2.76 pulley and idlers, JLT cai, Accufab t/b and plenum, Magnaflow catted tru-x pipe, Borla stingers, KB BAP, Diablosport Mafia, and Predator w/ dyno tune. Those are all the performance mods that I have. I have spent a little money on other things also like MGW shifter, SOS gauge pod, Speedhut guages (boost and w/b airfuel), Innovate LC-1 wideband, and H&R race springs. I'm sure I've forgotten a few things, but you get what I'm saying. I have probably only put about $2500-$3000 into the car since buying it back in April. The only part I didn't buy and put on it is the Borla.

Well if you don't have GT500 money tell people that so they can throw it out of the equation. If you can afford it get a Terminator, period.

04 Saleen = overpriced Gt even with the s/c. 03/04 Cobra has a forged motor from the factory, so it's made to hold more power. 04 Saleen has the same motor that comes in all the new edge cars. This of course is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

termi>MACH>s197 GT>99-04gt IMO if you can afford a termi go for it if not look into a mach or a 99-01 cobra the 4V motor is the way to go
