300-350 RW HP?

so all you guys who have mods here, what kind of horsepower are you running? heres what i would do to my car if i was going to seriously mod it:

full exhaust including headers
CAI
plenum and T/B
tuner
underdrive pulleys
3.55:1? gears definately not 4.10's

just basically bolt ons.. and maybe some mild upgrade cams as well.

what kind of HP gains would that give me, and how much faster would the car be?

well cams will make a difference but with what you have your looking at about 235rwhp with those mods give or take 5 hp. And why is everyone afraid of 4.10's, the 3.55 aren't going to do anything for you and you will not be able to tell a difference, and if you say gas milage i am just going to shoot myself cause you bought a sports car not a civic. And i don't 'know your driving skills at the track but i am going to assume you are a beginner so i will say you will run 14's

and if you are wanting to make 300 hp there are many ways to do it, you can supercharge it (don't know how long the motor will last), spray it (again don't know how long the motor will last), mod it na, which will be some nice na cams and stage 2 heads

ok, i figured it would gain more horsepower than that. i've been doing some reading and i've read a tuner can add 18 hp on a stock vehicle, underdrive pulleys can add 8, CAI can add 8-10, cams can add 30, and i dont know about the throttle body and exhaust but i would think those combined would add 15-20 at least... i have never done any of this, its just what i have read.

so i thought i could add a conservative 50 horsepower without getting into heads, nitrous and a supercharger..

those gain are never on a stock vehicle like you say. CAI you are lucky to get 3 or 4 hp depending on what you get, pulleys about 4, cams can add 30 and exhaust with all that will add about 20, but that estimate was without cams, if you get cams which you will have to fork over about 900 with labor you should make about 250-260 but with out thats about 235. I wouldn't ever trust what these companys say about hp, they are always over exagerated.

i was pretty skeptical about the HP gains eveyone claims for their parts too. the only work i would have done on it would be the exhaust. i would definately do the cams myself.

exhaust is a easier job than cams imo...3.55s wouldnt be worth the time or money to put them in over stock gears...i would just supercharge rather than bs around with all the bolt ons...there is a video on here somewhere with a supercharged gt vs a full bolt on gt and the s/c blows it away

yes of course a supercharged car will blow a na car away, except maybe for my bolt-on car but still supercharging a stock motor is asking for trouble, i don't care what anyone says, i had one on mine i have the experience to know that the motor will eventually go, from the rings, to a spun rod bearing you just don't know when it will happen. But i would not do cams unless you have done them before or someone taught you how to do ohc engines, that or you will screw your heads and motor up

thats the reason why i'm going to try to stay away from a supercharger. i dont want to blow my engine. bolt-ons focus on releasing power that the engine is capable of while supercharging stuffs power down the engines throat. i would have bought a cobra if i was gonna go supercharged. i know my stuff about ford small-blocks, i've built a few of them with great results.. but not too much about the OHC engines. they are completely new to me. i know i could put cams in my mustang by myself, i would definately do my research before hand. cams would most likely be the last thing i did to my engine, but it doesnt make much sense to do exhaust and intake without doing cams as well. maybe i should just stick with my '67 ranchero with a 289 for speed and modifications and leave the internals of my mustang alone.. its just hard to keep it stock, you know what i mean

just forge your internals and tune the car and upgrade as needed. not saying it works all the time, but those things will definitely help out the motor.

ive got a fully built stroker, stage 2 heads and cams, full exhaust headers back and all other supporting mods. its built for boost with low compression but it only made 305 rwhp. so your looking at a lot more stuff to get that 300 rwho. anyways with higer compression i think i could be around 320 rwhp.

Only 235? I thought those cars started with around 260. Wouldn't adding those things add power?

S/C it!! Go ahead! Ford says it's OK!

Ford will stand behind their warranty even with a ROUSH S/C installed. Here's the catch; You have to have the S/C installed by Ford. They're gonna hit you with @ least 8 hours labor. Total BANK DROPPED will be about $6k.

235 is at the wheels, the 260 is at the flywheel. So at the wheels stock its more like 215-220

you also have to remember that not every car is the same and will react differently. most of the time, they will be in the same general area of gains. also, different brands and different part combinations will vary the gains or losses.
