99 supercharged or 03 cobra

Well long story short i wrecked my lexus just before winter and now that summer is getting closer im looking around for a new car. And ive petty much decided on a 99 or up GT or Cobra. That is where i would like some imput for the ppl who drive them. I was either thinking going with a 1999 gt with a supercharger or a 03 cobra. Which one do u guys think would be better. This car is not going to be my daily driver as i have a crappy jetta for that. But i dont want outrageous power, but 400 whp would be nice. So do i supercharge a 1999 gt or just get the cobra. Is the cobra worth the price or do u think or just a blown 99 would be better for less money. Oh yea i got 9g's for my lexus from insurance, and would put it all down on a cobra then have some small payments most likely.

GT would be cheaper to make as fast as a cobra but you would have to replace the internals if you go past the 400 hp mark. The cobra has upgraded almost everything (price included). If you could find a cobra at a decent price that's the route I would go. If money is an issue and you would rather upgrade as you go then get a GT.

Go with the 03/04 Cobra. With a $300-$400 dollar port on the stock blower and a pulley you can exceed 400rwhp w/ a stock blower on an 03/04. Plus Cobra's are 4V's and they are WAY better than 2V's.

Do u think that the price tag on them justifies the gains. Or would a supercharged gt give about the same fun factor as a cobra for less money?

I went the GT KB route. I was thinking about going the cobra way before I bought my blower. But it was just cheaper to charge my GT. Plus it is not near as heavy as an 03/04 cobras.

But, the Cobras are NICE! I'll give you that. 4V

u can get a nice low mileage 99 Gt for under 10k or about 10, 5k to be near 400whp, or 20+k for a cobra, u can take what u got from ur lexus and buy a GT straight up, than 5k in mods instead of car payments

I would love to swing the cobra but no payments sounds like the way to go just in case i get in a money jam(this economy now a days is undependable). Kbdrk98 thanks for the imput your sig sealed the deal for me 366whp and u probably did that for a lot less than a cobra. thanks guys for your help in the following months i will be surfing the classifieds for a stang by summer. So if ya have a nice gt hit me up.....

I'm going to have to say 03 Cobra. I had an 03 Gt and now an 03 Cobra. I wish I would have bought the Cobra from the get go. It's your money though, so buy what makes you happy.
