How to make power

I have a 2003 mach 1 and the motor is blown. i am having it rebuilt but want to know how to adde some good power. i looked at putting on a kenne bell 2.4 and put bigger pistons and stronger rods but what are some other things that would give me some good power while the motor is taken apart. i am looking to make between 500 and 650 hp. What shud i do?

Use the search button and read everything you can get your eyes on.

Don't do anything without a LOT of research.

Happy searching!

And you can start your search in the 4V section. Quite a few topics on this.

Well if you are going to get a kenne bell and hope to push 500-600hp, try going with a lower compression ratio. I could be wrong, but that is how I understand things.

For sure. The machs had higher compression to make good na power while the termi motors run 8.5:1 for more power with boost on pump gas. Are you looking for 650 on pump or race gas? That could drastically change how things need to be done.

Are you building anything else up? You're going to want a new rear end, or else it's going to break under that much power.
