Is there any particular reason why you'd want to?

Yes
![]() The IRS suspension is a direct bolt-in application, but have the same question as the Fluffster. It was designed to fit into the sn95 without any modification and is considered to be a pretty poor IRS by those in the know. Most who want to make serious HP or take a good tip-toe through the twisties, swap it out for the SRA. HTH Jazzer

Generally you would assume correct that the IRS would be better. However, in the case of the Cobra IRS compared to the solid axle, People tend to dissagree. The IRS have an issue with wheele hop that can not entirely be removed. They also do not have the best geometry. Normally when a car is designed with IRS in mind, they can adjust where all the connection points are to be optimized for the IRS. But since Cobra's just ahve irs shoved into the place designed for a Live Axle, its a little problematic. Don't get me wrong, the system works, and may have some ride quality differences stock. But otherwise, the Solid axle is considered a better all round piece. With after market parts, its far stronger and much stiffer on the road and track. And its already like 200 lbs or more lighter.
