Sanded through clearcoat

Well my luck gets better and better with my car. I dropped a light on top of my spoiler and scratched it in two spots. One scratch , I was able to wetsand and buff it out. The other I made even worse by sanding it down past the clear to the basecoat. It is the size of a pinkie fingernail, maybe a tad smaller. My car is black in color it will be tricky to make it look better. the small spot looks faded to a lighter black color. WIll I have any luck with touch up paint or just live with it?? This really sux and no one will probably ever notice it but me , but it bugs the heck out of me.

Well its only on your spoiler so you can take it off and have it all wetsanded and resprayed. touch up paint wont really do to much but look like a big glob on the spoiler

Well I dont think its so bad that I need to take it off and get it painted again. The question is, will I be able to make it look have way decent with touch up paint? Maybe if I apply a thin layer. Do you think applying clear coat will make it look better or maybe different polishes?

yea if you dont have the money then go with a thin layer of the touch up paint and a clear coat.
if you do however have the money, then i would get it painted.

if you touch it up and put clear on the little spot you will still notice it. after it sits in the sun it will look even worse. the best thing to do is pull it off the car and take it to a shop and have them touch up the spot with matched paint and clear the whole thing. call around and see which shop will give you the best deal. if you were out by me i could get it painted for really cheap or maybe free.

im all the way up by canada, so it probably wouldnt be worth it to ship it up here and then back down. another thing you could do tho is talk to a painter at a shop and see if he can do it as a side project. a lot of painters do side work for pretty cheap.... there was a guy at the last shop i worked at and he would paint just about anything for a bottle of vodka lol.

Its a size of a pinkie nail not a whole finger..and it is probably half the size of a dime. So its really small , but I just used some touch up paint and will let it dry for a day then wetsand it or use rubbing compound to smooth it out. How meticulous are you guys compared to me lol? I cant stand scratches or chips , but I guess that is inevitable when you drive your car.
