Problems with urathane releasing agent

I purchased an aftermarket Cobra R front bumper and my body shop is haveing a terrible time with it. The paint will not stick. They have prepped it per manufacturer instruction numerous times. They have cleaned it with Acetone, scotchbrite, soap and water. But everytime they spray it with the sealer primer and put it in the oven this oily film seeps out of the plastic and the paint falls off. Everyone is telling us this is caused by the releasing agent the manufacturer used in the forming process. Something went wrong and the urathane soaked up too much of the agent so every time the bumper is warmed it seeps out and ruins the paint job. We've tried everything we can think of. Has anyone out there had this issue and aware of a work around? I can't believe I'm the first guy to face this issue. We are working with the maker but so far have not received a good response. An aftermarket expert told me one thing we can do is warm and clean the bumper several more times and then paint it without putting it in the oven. Just let it air dry. But no promises are made that on a hot day I might be driving down the road and see my paint fly up over the windshield. If anyone has any answers I would love to hear them. Thank You.

what kind of body shop did you go to? maaco?

I have no clue how well its gonna work now that it already has material on it but what was needed to be done was it needed to be cleaned with w&g remover, thrown in the booth and baked for a good hour or so at 140, then cleaned again with w&g remover. This allows for all the release agents to be released from the bumper.

Wink

No it wasn't Maaco. I might be getting old but I'm not stupid. LOL It is a very reputable shop but admittedly, one without extensive in aftermarket repair. You suggestion is matched by others on other forums. I doubt it's too late since the paint falls off now as it is. They should be able to take this tip and get it right unless something else is amiss. Thank You

My body shop had a problem with my bumper I just had painted. The said they had to bake it 4 times and scrubbed it 10 times but it fit perfect and looks great. Hope u got yours out of the shop and as happy as I am. Good luck

I talked to them yesterday and they stated they finally got the paint to stick. They thought. Supposed to get it back early next week. If I figure out how to post a pic here I'll send it along to ya. Thanks.
