engine performance
theres a big bull crap chat on a local forum im in about engine performance in the rain. I believe a motor doesnt work as well in the rain as it does on a dry day, they believ they work better- grant the temps are the same give me some input so i can do a big copy and paste to them!

I could see there being no "real" difference you could fill because the motor is essential "safe" from the environment. The only thing that could really affect it is the surrounding air temperature. Colder air equals more power so i guess you could say it would run a tid bit better because when it rains it is typically cooler out. But then you run into other problems like traction. But if the air temp is the same no matter what than there would be no advantage to it being dry out and even less of an advantage when it rains because of traction issues.

I have heard both sides.... Supposedly when its raining, moisture makes its way into the combustion chamber and helps create more power. Not only can a little bit more timing be ran but in its self will help create some power. It is by far not enough to worry about and really who cares..... You can't really use it in the rain.

I can see the idea that the humidity would act like water injection, but it's also displacing oxygen.
If this bugs you so much, go to a dyno, and do some pulls on dry days and rainy days, and tell us if you see ANY difference that's not just dyno noise.

Them v-tech boys probably do
They always rat on meh car because there intake ports are so freakin huge. If only they had the power to show for it dont get me wrong, when there turbocharged they can give you a run for your money but most of the hondas around here have uber big fart cans and thinks a 10 sec car is how fast you can do 0-60

honestly i didnt really care to much till a few people got butt hurt on the other forum, i have always noticed my cars act a little different when i fire them up in the rain from sitting then the dry, usually a small drop for a second or less in idle to mabe 600-500 rpms then back up to average slight hesitation when first driving once underway its fine but these side effects are only on a rainy/muggy day.
