Manual Brake Conversion?

Anyone know anything about this manual brake conversion. I would love to get rid of the stock system and have an all manual set up. Steering and brakes. However, I want to make sure the manual conversion is strong enough for some bigger brakes.

Lighter, and doesn't depend on engine power to work.

Yeah, that is what I'm wondering. If its designed for drag car, it may not be suited for road racing. The pedal effort might be higher than what would be ideal.

i had thought about it to... my fear was everyday driving though, the anti lock has saved my ass a couple of times on the street.... if you hit the brake to hard on the track its oh well half the time and try again....

if you fuck up and panic with a break setup like that on the street its gonna be a skid brake locking tire sliding fucking disaster

.... thats just my train of thought (i could also try driving like a normal person to i guess)

Im upgrading my whole brake system to an Aerospace kit this winter. Its going to be a manual system. Every pound counts in my situtation, Ill be adding weight back with Blower, Intake and cage.

Yeah, I would advise against this for a corner carver.

I understand that ABS is argued both ways (I prefer it myself, but understand the logic behind those that don't), but to get rid of the brake booster is asking for trouble.

Find a car with a vacuum brake booster, disconnect it, and drive around for a bit. You definitely lose a LOT of braking power.

For what it's worth, I am a proponent of manual steering.

Thought about doing this. My stock brakes are all messed up. They only work with the master cylinder bolts loosened.

IIRC your brakes work off of hydroboost so if you go to manual you also lose your power steering as well.

that just kinda sounds like your anti lock was kickin in... well no not really, i had a slight problem like that when my power steering pump went bad ( i got air in the lines and burnt it up)

Brakes woreked last night... but fastest I got the car up to was 47 MPH... no good on the track passes... so we will find out Sunday if they really work.. I blew up a tranny, so now its time to get a new one in.

The main reason I was concerned with the power brakes is the weight and the abs. I know the abs is good, and actually can help on the track if you are lazy and don't want to brake correctly. The weight savings are pretty small really. I also liked the idea of getting rid of the lines and everything. I would love to get the car to a nice simple under the hood look. None of that extra hoses and shit that connect to god knows what.

I like the 10 wires look.
2 battery,
8 plug wires,
1 ground
1 coil plug

I should create a blue tooth wireless ecu system, that would be awesome.

thats another concern of mine like bitmark said would there be some kind of way to retain your power steering?... in my opinion im not a fan of hydroboost brakes anyways i kinda wish that ford would of just done vacuum brakes instead
