Ultimately, dollar for hp, the PI intake is the best for the money. The other intakes for the 4.6 (that are worth a sh*t), IMO, cost too much for the amount of horsepower you will gain. The intakes like the P-51 and the Reichard Racing are more suited to the high-rpm, racing only applications. Yes they will gain you 10 or so horsepower or more, but you don't see hardly any of those gains until about 5k rpm's and both of these intakes cost around $1300-1500. The typhoon and the other "PI look-alike" (I don't remember the name) are cheaper, but from the handful or so of people I've seen actually buy them, install and dyno them......none saw any gains in power from the intake. I mean a couple saw maybe a 2-3 hp gain, but some actaully saw a drop in hp. Not to mention, their poor manufacturing quality. The Bullitt/SVO intakes are the general choice of intakes amongst the mustang nation. They see almost the gains of the p-51 and reichard, and is more durable and will give you that power throughout the powerband....which is great. However, you will still pay $900+ for a used intake.

IMO, paying $1000+ for 5-10 hp is not worth it in my opinion. Just stick with the PI intake for $200 and the 4-5 hp gain

again, it would all depend on what your mods are. probably to get the full effect of the intake you would need to p&p the heads as well. I am going to pick one up when they come out. It looks like the plenum is on the intake and all you would need is the TB.

f@###ck reichard racing. they have the worst customer service in the world. and unless you have a built motor i wouldnt suggest there intake. edelbrocks is going to be for a carburated application. im a little angry with reichard racing if ya cant tell....

the trick flow says that some modifications are required for 96-98 models. im assuming by mods it means, PI head swaps are all that will be needed?

Invictus.... there is no plenum on that intake just throttle body.

Yes the modifications they are talking about is the PI swap. I swapped the PI on to my NPI heads and still dont have a problem. It can be done.

The 2v isnt really around anymore so thats why there isnt a huge demand for these intakes. But Now that one person made an intake, everyone will follow and make theirs saying different horsepower and trying to sell it. I personally like the fact that they are aluminum and dont have the chances of cracking like factory. Because even the PI intakes that are revised can still leak.
