Wierdness In Power!?

Alright guys just got done putting in my mac catback sounds freacking mean and it makes me smile everytime haha. But it made me notice something really wierd if im going along in first and punch it and grab second with my foot to the floor when I grab second it doesnt feel like it has everything and then around 3-3.5 grand or so she really gets going like i know she does my bro thinks the fuel filter so ill swap that baby out soon any suggestions and if im rolling in 2nd and punch it it takes a second for it to really go. Thanks guys hope you can help!

Punctuation. It's a pet peeve....sorry.

Give a little better description. What do you mean by grab second? Shift? Or are you already in second? Sounds like something is a bit gummed up. Maybe run some seafoam or something. Is the throttle responding right? Do you have an exhaust leak?

It is usually only when I hit the gas in second gear. Like it's not as snappy as it used to be in second maybe it's just because I'm going to slow or something and the rpm's aren't high enough yet. Just seems like there is no go when I punch it I have to wait a moment.

Exhaust does usually shift your power band up in the rpm range, that me be what your feeling.

Just a thought but could it be that because its louder you are punching it down at a lower rpm than before? Catback really don't make much of a difference in power.

What RPM are you shifting at? Try shifting at 2k or higher. If you shift around 3, you shouldnt feel any lag at all. I used to feel a little bit of lag to, but it wasnt anything to really be concerned with.

I think it is just normal actually it doesn't happen when I shift it did once but I shifted into 2nd and was just cruisin at low rpms then punched it its in 2nd when im low there is just such a difference in power like almost not normal difference but I suppose it could be.

It's a non-PI car, it never had "go"
