Exhaust Help

I have a mustang with a 4.6 gt motor in it. It has stock manifolds in it, but the rest of the exhaust system has been redone with 2.5" pipes with flowmaster 40 series mufflers. It does not have any catalyctic converters on it. It has a set of small tips just barely bigger than the pipes. It sounds good at and idle or if you rev it up setting still, but when you are driving down the road if you get down on it it has an awful ringing to it. I have a chevy truck with the exact same exhaust, the only difference being it has a set of large tips on it, and it sounds great. I was wondering if I put bigger tips on my mustang if that would maybe get rid of the ringing noise?

maybe. I have noticed with vehicles in the past that larger tips make the exhaust a lil bit deeper sounding, and it may reduce the ringing.

Possibly. Can't hurt if you try it.
