What should I do.....Sell it or keep it

I have a 96 mustang gt and i have bbk offroad x pipe, 373 gears, shortthrow shifter, flowmasters, cold air intake, and my car still gets beat by my buddys 95 5.0 with headers and offroad h pipe. He wants $5,000 4 it and the body and interior is perfect. Does the 95's have a lot more horse or is my car sick! Im thinkin about sellin mine and buying his.....would u all?

you could make the 95 a lot faster for a lot cheaper.. buy his then swap your gears and shifter out of your 96 into the 95. then sell your 96.

Well, you have to consider you're racing the last of the 5.0s against the first of the 4.6s. Those early 4.6s are dogs. Stock to stock you're looking at 215hp versus 225. While that's not saying much, torque ratings are more like 265 vs 300. So of course you're gonna loose your ass to the 5.0

However, while buying his car would be easy, how much can you modify your car for the same amount? By design, an OHC motor can be made to rev a lot better than a pushrod can, and it's that advantage you need to capitalize on.
Hell, for 5 grand you could probably swap in 32v motor.

Or you can take the easy way out...

If you can get enough coinage for you ride, I would sell and buy the 5.0

It's the same attitude in the 4x4 world, people don't respect those that just go buy some fancy-pants uber rig. They respect the people who've taken their rig, and built it up themselves, with stories and reasons for all their parts.

There's a process to building up a rig yourself. As you drive, you notice the deficiencies between your driving style and the car. Maybe you like to brake really late and I brake way too early. In that case, I might find stock brakes totally adequate, whereas you wouldn't. Or with suspension, I might drive in areas where a softer suspension is faster, you might need something much stiffer. If you were to buy my car, you'd just end up ripping out what I put in and doing it yourself anyway. If you do it yourself, you end up with a vehicle you know, and you know exactly why it is the way it is.

I say do what you want, but I think that you'll be happier in the end if you build up your own car. I mean, if you just wanted to buy your way to the top, I'll sell you a Veyron for $1.5 mil

There's always gonna be someone faster.
