Most likely cracked. The non PI intakes are well known for that on your model car. Look for a bullet intake or maybe an aftermarket set up.

your best bet for replacing it, is to just go with your basic pi manifold with the alumi9num water jackets. the bullitt isnt going to gain you that much, and others are going to hurt your bottom end so bad that it wont be usable. most of the aftermarket intakes for the 2v are pretty much race only parts

I didn't know wether or not the PI manifolds were plastic or aluminum, and if they were still plastic I didn't see any reason not to take this as an opportunity to change to a stronger metal peice.

well they are till plastic, but the water crossover is aluminum and tat is where these intakes have all their problems at. they crack right at the crossover and thats where the coolant comes form. anyways the aluminum waterjackets, keep it from cracking.

Some not all. The PI intakes crack behind the alternator where if they WERE plastic it would crack like stated. Intake gaskets have been known to leak as well. Also the coolant hose going to the pass side rear will leak and will leak on even the PI updated manifolds.
