steel braided coolant lines?

Hey guys I got an 01 gt about a month ago, and I've been lurking on these forums ever since, I had the day off work today so I spent all morning washing and waxing the stang, hoping to post some pics on here this evening, just my luck though right after I finished I took it up to Wal Mart and on the way back a coolant line broke and threw coolant all over my windshield and all over the car . Anyway the line that broke runs into the firewall and connects to the engine, (I'm an A&P mechanic, but I'm not too familiar with cars, I bought the stang, with high hopes to learn) I was just curious would it be worth it to replace all the coolant lines with steel braided, or should I just replace that one line?

steel braided looks real cool I have it on my drag bike, it is not allowed in some NHRA clases, it is a bitch to work with, and costs a lot I am going to go with the black braid or the blue twist lock stuff, cheeper not so much of a bitch to work,

I appreciate the input, I had no idea that steel braided wasn't allowed in some NHRA classes, any idea why?

uh, stianless braided is just fine for racing and perfered. an actual braided stainless is stonger and lot more durable. there is a reason people go to it for their systems. the line that goes to the firewall from the motor will be the heater hose that goes to the heater core. just go to part store and get another one. i do not know of a stainless braided line for that, and the braided wrap sucks.

thanks man, I really appreciate the knowledge, on another note I would like to get the ford shop manuals for my car since I know so little about it, does anyone know where i could get them? I've looked on amazon and other places and they seem to be hard to come by. Another noob question, my car is a 5 speed, but i was reading that Ford used 2 transmissions that year, a t45 and a t-3650, how can I tell which I have, I've been googling it and coming up empty. I really appreciate it guys, BTW anyone else in the Atlanta area?

There are a lot of us in Atlanta. I am on the southside. You should come down to Summit Racing in McDonough on Monday night. It is Mustang night for there weekly cruise in.

Sounds good I'll get down there sometime, today I had some more time to look under my hood, and I need a new intake as well, I really don't want to put another plastic one on there, but I'm trying to save up for a 4v swap, so I don't want to spend alot right now.
