Safe to remove hoodliner?

I just got a new hood with fresh paint , but the hood never came with a hoodliner. I have researched the internet about the pros and cons about this and just wondering if anyone has had any negative experiences from paint cracking or chipping due to excessive heat. Mostly from what ive researched is there to keep the heat in from the cold winter months, absorb moisture, and contain a fire. Anything on baking the paint off the hood though was a myth.

you'l be fine, if you have that much heat going up to your hood you have bigger problems to worry about.

yeah I would say your fine but the hood liner is quite easy to remove and put back on. That is if your new hood has the holes for mounting it.

Most aftermarket hoods will not work with a hoodliner. Mine has been w/o for over a year now with no ill effects.
