Battery issues

i was sitting in my car with a friend listening to the radio for a couple of hours and i killed the battery doing that. i got a jump and went home, so a couple of days later i decided to black out my tail lights, so for a couple of hours 3 days in a row i had the trunk open and the trunk light was on. so last night i tried going out nd the battery was dead again.

do u think its a bad battery or its fine and just ran out of juice?

you can only run a battery down a few time's & it'll be junk. most likely time for a new battery.

battery brand's are pretty much all the same quality IMO. I usually buy the mid priced battery where ever I'm at at the time & call it good. just stay away form gell batteries (optima, etc) as since you obviously have a habit of running down your battery, they can't take it (I've seen them junk after 1 complete dicharge, ie. leaving the light's on/etc.) good luck with whatever you choose.

Can't run them all the way flat. You will kill them. Car batteries are designed to provide lots of current for a short amount of time to start the engine then get charged back up. If you want to be a mobile DJ, you need a seperate deep cycle (RV / Marine) type battery. Don't use one to start the engine though.

I'll have to second the duralast. They do what they propose. Is the battery more than 5 years old? If so, grab a brand new battery. They're cheap enough. Radio shouldn't kill a good battery, nor the trunk light, considering it would be charged on the ride home.

What's wrong with Optima? Been running one for a couple years without zero issues.
