Newbie Question

I have a simple non tech question to ask. I plan on getting a 2010 mustang very soon. What I want to do it change out the gear shifter with a custom one. I want to have a custom shifter made that has a small emblem embedded into it.

My question is can the Mustang shifter knob be removed and where can I go to have a custom shifter made? I live in Virginia near Fredricksburg and Washington DC.

Thanks

It should just unscrew. Good "custom shift knob" and I'm sure you'll find some results. You should be able to find someone somewhere where you can order something custom online. It'll probably cost you though.

Well I am not good at art so I will try to describe it. I am a Marine that commissioned recently. I want to take my Eagle Globe and Anchor (EGA) pin that I was awarded and have it basically replace the top portion of the shifter. The bottom should look like the original Mustang shifter but the top would have the pin embedded into it with maybe a think layer of like fiberglass on top to smooth it out.

I have attached a picture of an EGA. It is roughly the size of a half dollar. Basically I want to take out the silver part with the numbers on it and replace it with a silver backing to fit the pin inside.

take shifter out of a gt500 (2010) have it machined flat on top and glue your metal to it and then cover it with a very thick coat of polyurethene
