For the twisty track, no the 4R is not going to be a best option, a manual is always a better option IMO. Even if you get a MVB for it, you can not gurantee it to have engine brake in all the gears you desire...which is a must for the road course.

If you wanted it built the best it could be, a one way ticket to my shop is only about $170 on a pallet.

Just get a built C4 and throw a gear vendor set up on it if you want to stay auto.

Be careful about these "transmission experts" on this forum. I have had my ass burned one time on here already, and it doesn't appear that his cat has been around long enough for anyone to know who he is.

Just an FYI, don't take it the wrong way.

I can vouch for Dan (aka. silverfoxbody) while he's new here, he is a major player in the Ford transmission world & very highly regarded on other web site's/etc. I have never had him do work for me (as I do my own tranny's), but he has provided me & many other's with some very honest & valuable info over the years.

Thanks for the support.
Though the comment above WAS posted about me, I still couldn’t agree more.
Always do your homework, it is the smart thing to do.
…I do my best not to SELL on forums so I do apologize for making any myself available in that fashion against the forum policy.
I am sure there is some kind of trans related guy financially supporting this site I would offend, if not, I can be your first supporter maybe?
